JFL-side New Wave Kitakyushu made the promotion to the J2 today!The other football-team from Fukuoka prefecture won at Arte Takasaki with 1:2 and will end the season under the first four places, which is one of the criteria of the J.League to become a member.
Kitakyushu is now on 3rd place with 57 points. Gainare Tottori, who also got the chance to promote is now on 5th place with 53 points, so they can't be past.
The promotion of New Wave means that there will be a Fukuoka-Derby for the first time in japanese professional soccer. New Wave will get a new name for the new season. In 2010, the team will play as Giravanz Kitakyushu.
